April Fools Day, also called All Fools’ Day
It April 1st and I started wondering where exactly did April Fool’s Day or All Fool’s Day (England) originate. With a little google research it appears it is not really known where it comes from. There are several explanations, like the unpredictablity of weather patterns. There are variations in different cultures, but basically all have to do with making someone look foolish.
Here in California it is also Cesar Chavez Day. A day in honor of the Arizona-born civil rights and labor activist who fought for better conditions for farmworkers.
I think today is a good day to create some new work besides updating this blog. I feel so lucky to be able to do this and have this choice with the world is such turmoil. The Ukraine war is so terrible and Covid is still here.
